Your calculated codice fiscale

For reference only, worked out with the rules of DM 23/12/1976 and the ANPR/ISTAT place codes as of 23/10/2026. The only valid code is the one issued by the Agenzia delle Entrate; with omocodia it can differ. Sources: Agenzia delle Entrate · ANPR · ISTAT · Disclaimer

Is the calculated code my real codice fiscale?

Usually, but only the code issued by the Agenzia delle Entrate counts. It can differ when two people would share a code (omocodia: some digits become letters), or when your names were recorded differently, for example a middle name left out. Foreigners sometimes first receive a temporary 11-digit number. Check a code with the Agenzia’s free service.

Questions

Do I use my nationality or my country of birth?

Your country of birth. An Italian born in Germany has the German code; a Romanian born in Turin has the Turin code.

Should I include my middle names?

Yes, all given names as on your birth record, written together. Leaving one out can change the code.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent or stored.

Can I use a calculated code on official forms?

Only once you know it matches the code the Agenzia delle Entrate issued to you, as printed on your certificate or health card.
